Akemi Nakamura has long been drawn to the beauty of color and form of wild flowes, After pressing and drying process, colorful petals and bold leaves are applied on to the painted canvas. By incorporating dried flower into her work, Ms. Nakamura is succeeded to balance the tension she creates between the organic and geometric: between surface and the depth. Ms. Nakamura's floral abstract paintings capture the moment of life otherwise vanish. Resides in Kagoshima, Japan. Founder of Somai-Za, the school of dried flower painting. |
